my water broke! No contractions yet but am praying my body does it's job and I wont need pitocin (last 3 labor didnt start after water broke and was induced 12 hours later - I'm several weeks further along this time though).

I had just got done taking a shower, came downstairs to get dressed, got my pants half on and that's when it happened.

Oh and we are having a snow storm right now too lol.

My midwife is required (by the OB she works under) to have patients in for an induction within 12 hours of rupture if labor has not started. After talking to my doula, I've decided that I will wait til around 9 pm tonight to call my midwife and tell her my water just broke then. Not because I want to lie to her - but because I don't want her questioned as to why I didn't go in sooner. And sorry but I am NOT getting up at 4 a.m. to go in for an induction lol. So if nothing happens by morning I will go in after a good nights rest.

Please send labor dust my way so I don't need evil pit!!!!!

How exciting! You are so close to meeting your little one!!! Thoughts for an easy labor and safe driving if you do have to go out in the snow!

p.s. I have one word for you- ORGASMS.

lots of them! That's your best bet for getting contractions going. I don't care how you gotta get them, get them!!

Oh yay! Great timing too, 38 is far enough along but will probably save you some of the baby fat that you were worried about with going to 40 weeks.

Woohoo! Congrats and best of luck with your labor. I would have done the same thing with calling my midwife later on. I hope you can avoid induction and pitocin! Good luck!!

Just checking to see how things are going. Hoping that you're either in the throws of labor or are holding your baby.
