I had my 33w appointment today. I started with an u/s to measure my cervix as they do every visit. It started at 2.5cm which is good for me at this point, and then over the next two minutes, it shortened to 1.9cm as Audrey pushed on it! It was pretty amazing to see.
I talked to my doc about my birth plan. There's really nothing crazy on it. The biggest things were not wanting CFM, IV fluids, and no pit after delivery. He said in all probability it will be a quick vaginal birth but I need to be prepared for alternatives. I told him that I understand, but I know myself and if I end up needing a c-section, even in an emergency, I'll need therapy! (I know if I have to have one, I am educated on the subject enough to know it will be necessary like all the other NCB moms that have ended up with one, but it still won't be easy on me.)
Anyways, long story short, he agreed to everything on my birth plan, even though he really wasn't pleased with some of it, including not having routine pit.
It's routine to receive pitocen after? I've never heard that before. I had an iv with Max but without anything hooked to it and they never mentioned wanting to do pitocen at all. I guess I was lucky. I told the doctor (not mine but the one that was on call that night) when I arrived not to even mention pain control to me and she allowed me a completely natural birth without questions. She didn't even ask to break my water until I had already been pushing for 20 minutes.
Anyway, so glad he agreed to everything, even if he is agaisnt it!

That's great that he agreed to everything! That really stinks that pit is routine and he's not too thrilled about some of the stuff on your list! Do you have a "strong" dh or doula that will stand up for you if you need it just in case?
Thank you for my beautiful siggy Vicki!
