I am having a doula in training that will be attending this time. She is an old friend, and currently a L&D RN, but also a Homebirth birth assistant and wants to be a midwife. She hates working in the hospital, but needs to in order to have her student loans repaid... anyways she will be attending my birth as a doula. My best friend will also be attending if she can. She has 3 children, so it really depends on whether or not she can get a babysitter and whatnot. I'm really happy with my decision to have someone other than DH there. DH is wonderful, but I need a woman's support as well.

I did and thank God! The dr and nurse were such meanies and my doula just fed me ice chips , held my leg while pushing and quietly encouraged me. I was in crazy pain cuz of her OP position and then my placenta was stuck so it was a very painful labor. Her and my dh made me feel safe in a very hostile environment
