Just wanted to say hello! I just found out a couple weeks ago I am expecting and thinking about NCB is a complete 180 for me. I always said "when I am in labor give me the epidural" LOL But after doing bits of research here and there (and tons more to do LOL) I am very much leaning towards NCB for my first. I am going to see the midwife at my Dr's office and look into the doula services in my area as the more shows I see on them I say to my self what an awesome support system that would be during labor.

So I plan on asking questions and hopefully learning a lot from you ladies!

Welcome and congratulations on your April baby!!! You will find lots of great information and support here. I think you'll find that the more you read and research the more you will really want a NCB and hopefully you will put together a great plan and find a great method that will help you achieve it! And you've got lots of time to do all that still so you're getting a great start.

Hi! And congrats on your baby! I'm Bethany one of the co-hosts here. I'm mommy to DD Kaily (8), DS Kelly (almost 3), and DD Kate (12 weeks). I agree the more you learn, the more people tend towards NCB. I don't think I know anyone that has wanted a NCB, achieved a NCB and then regretted it. It always turns out to be the most amazing experience for them. I know that's how its been with my children's births.

I hope to see you stick around here!

Welcome! Congrats!! I've had 2 inductions with epidurals and my last baby was a NCB. I wanted a water birth, but she was stubborn and wouldn't come out in the tub. LOL! Still, I did it with no epi or any other pain meds and I have to say it was the most amazing experience of my life. I can't wait to do it again! This board was a HUGE help to me during my pregnancy. Everyone here is really supportive, and there's great information in the NCB sticky. I hope you stick around!

Welcome! I recognize you from the cloth diaper board. What hospital are you delivering at? I was supposed to deliver at CMC Main in Charlotte, but didn't quite make it. They allow midwives to deliver there and are pretty NCB-friendly for a hospital. I recommend the reading list that's stickied here. Tons of great information there.

I am thinking I will be delivering at Cleveland Regional unless after my first Dr. appointment I don't like my Dr.'s answers to my questions on how intervention friendly he is and what he thinks of NCB. I will make sure I check out the stickys and subforums!
