Ok so I would love to hear from someone that their baby was breech before delivery or up until delivery and they were able to turn them and proceed with their wish for NCB. At our u/s on Monday we confirmed that the baby was breech. I know that babies have time to move and all that jazz, but I'm just trying at all costs to avoid a c-section. I was my mom's first baby and she had me at 35wks vaginally and breech. The only reason was that they didn't know beforehand and her labor just progressed way too quickly. So some words of encouragement or advice would be great! Thanks

33 weeks is still pretty early to worry much about baby being breech. You can check out spinningbabies.com for suggestions on turning a breech baby.

Kya flipped breach at 36 weeks. I spent a week doing some maneuvers from that site and she turned back to head down by 37 weeks and pretty much stayed that way. (homebirth)

My midwife would have gotten me in touch with one of the only 2 OBs in our area willing to attend a breech delivery and would have at least allowed a trial of labor since sometimes babies turn during labor.

acupuncture with moxibustion is very effective turning breech babies and is best done between 34 and 36 weeks.

Thank you SOOOO much for this! I wish I would have known that with my last pregnancy (c-section due to frank breech -despite our attempts) the AMA says that Moxibustion Acupunture has a 75% success rate, that is INSANE!

Good to know since our current pregnancy is breech as well!

sorry I am just responding now, somehow I missed this!

check in the subforum here for a thread on breech babies with lots of great info and links. 33 weeks is early but it's the perfect time to get proactive. Vivian turned breech at 34 weeks, and what I was told by my midwife is that swimming belly down in water was one of the best things to do, along with seeing a chiropractor who knows the webster technique as well as acupuncture. Make sure you are wearing loose clothing such as dresses all the time. No sitting with your knees above your hips, reclining back etc, only sitting straight up or laying down. talk to your baby, visualize it turning. You can turn things upside down in your house, even sleep in your bed opposite of what you usually do.

in my case Vivian turned sideways at 35 weeks, I was swimming and saw a chiro and was doing the breech hypnobabies track. She came at 36 weeks and turned head down early in labor. I had a home birth with a midwife who does breech so it wouldn't have been a deal breaker, but it was a relief to have her turn.

Thanks for the info ladies!! I will definitely be trying these things. Baby has been breech for about 5wks now so I am hoping the baby gets the hint very soon.
