I keep getting these HORRIBLE sharp pains in my back at the level of my hip bones, near my spine on the right side. I'm not contracting or anything. Do you think baby is grinding back there? I think he is posterior.

He's probably putting pressure on your sciatic nerve. This happens to me often

Sometimes it helps to lay on your back (if you can) and hold onto your knees and pretend to draw little circles on the ceiling. It massages your lower back. Did that make sense?

I had alot of sciatic problems during pregnancy. I loved my chiropractor!! He even bought a special table for pregnant women when I was pregnant. It had a "break away" middle so I could lay on my stomach to be massaged/adjusted! It was awesome! He would play soft music with dim lights, massage, adjust, then leave me alone for 10-15 minutes to relax. All the while my other little ones were playing happily in the waiting room with his wife supervising. Heaven!

I'll be praying your pain goes away! I understand!

I had that for most of my pregnancy because baby would be on my sciatic nerve. Doing leg exercises really helped me. Labor lounges and squats.

I had something similar but my sharp pain was very deep and didn't run down my leg. It was only from just above my hip down through my butt and then would stop. I would "get stuck" in a certain position and couldn't move. I should have gone to a chiro and for whatever reason didn't. I think what I had was SPD. Giving birth helped me! hehe

I hope you can get some relief. I think someone was doing spinning babies to turn her posterior babe, maybe you can try that!
