Hi, I'm Caelen and I have a little boy named Jacob who is 18 months old this month. DH is Mike and we're expecting baby #2 in March of next year. I'm very much hoping to have a natural birth this time, intervention and medication free. I would likely homebirth except that we're currently tenants while we remodel another house. I'm not really comfortable enough to homebirth here. My last birth was kind of slow going, I was progressing, just not as fast as they wanted me to. The doctor manually dialated me (without telling me) and then put me on a pitocin drip. While it may not sound like it, it was almost a traumatic experience for me and I'm very much hoping to never go through that again. I've already expressed my concerns and feelings about this to my new doctor and he seems like he's on board. I'm hoping I can be a better advocate for myself and my child this time though.

Hopefully I can pick up some more info and things from everyone here

Hi! I'm Mandy, my LO's are Ethan (9-30-08) & Avery (7-14-10). Welcome to the board; everyone here is super friendly & helped me a lot with my 2nd birth. Like you, EThan was not an NCB & I really wanted a different experience with Avery.
I was lurking in your DDC today (I'm a March b-day) & saw the thread on NCB. I had to shake my head at the "What's the point of an NCB?" post where she compared childbirth to having your wisdom teeth out. Wow! I get that NCB isn't for everyone, but she seemed down-right hostile towards the idea! Luckily Patty is probably the most diplomatic host I've ever seen.

Welcome! You're in the right place! If your DDC isn't supportive, this board will be.

Welcome Caelen! Congrats on baby #2. I'm Michele and I just had my first child and first NCB on July 12. I don't know if I would or could have done it without the information and support I got here. I'm sure you can find everything you need to get the birth you want this time around!

Welcome! I'm Courtney, mommy to Liliana (2.5) and Abrielle (4 months). Abri's birth was my first NCB and it was a great experience!
