Ive been a Massage Therapist for 11 years and am now a Birth Doula. Im planning a homebirth as long as I stay low risk and my Gestational Diabetes stays away! My midwife seems to think that i got it due to malnourishment with my daughter so im on the Breweres Diet trying to prevent it..well not right now as i have horrible morning sickness! hope you guys dont mind if i jump in here...need some more like minded mamas to talk with!

Welcome! I've suffered from HG my entire pregnancy and vitamin B6 has really helped with my morning sickness, maybe it could help you to? I've heard of lots of ladies having lucky with the Brewers Diet..

Hi Bre! Great to have you here! We *love* the name Charlie for a girl. In fact, DH vetoed using Charlie for our boy that's about to arrive because he wants to save it for if we ever have a girl.

Good luck with the Brewer's Diet. There's another one I've heard good things about, let me see if I can remember the name. I'll post it back here if I find it.

Thanks so much Sara! the Brewers diet is no joke. So much protein...it really hard for me to fit all that food into one day. Im not even doing it right now because the thought of it makes me pukey! Super interested to here another diet so i could compare.

Welcome!
I had borderline Gestational Diabetes with my 3rd and 4th, so with my 5th, I ate NO sugar, no empty carbs, and only a little fruit with a meal (not alone). It worked for me!
I followed the Brewer's diet and never had a problem with MS unless I didn't eat often enough. Sometimes I even ate some cashews in the middle of the night if I got up to go to the bathroom, so my blood sugar wouldn't be too low in the morning. Hang in there!!
