For those of you who saw chiropractors through out your pregnancy, how often did you go? I'm going weekly at this point, and also having weekly massages. This is pretty pricey, but if it helps me feel better DH and I are willing to pay! However, the Chiropractor mentioned that he wants me to come in twice a week now. That alone is $200 a month, and that doesn't even include the massages! It's not that we truly can't afford it....I just wonder how beneficial it is to be seen twice a week at this point.

My dad is a chiropractor, so I get adjusted as often as possible (he lives an hour away), but obviously, cost isn't an issue. I would talk to your chiro about why he thinks its important for you to be seen twice a week and gauge how you are feeling as well. For me, as I got further along in my pregnancy, I needed adjusted more often due to my change in posture and the way I walk. But if you are feeling well, I would definitely talk to him about why he thinks you should be seen so often.

That's part of my issue....I never really feel "well." I have three herniated discs in my low back, so despite the chiropractic and massages I'm always in pain. I'm more or less doing it as a precaution, because I'm sure if I didn't I'd REALLY be a mess. I figured that I would need it more often the further I get, but I think I'm going to address it a little more with him as to why he thinks I need to come in more.

I went once a month until the end when I wanted to go a little bit more often (every 2 weeks). It really depends on what issue you have. If you're dealing with pain all the time I can certainly see why they'd want you to come in more often. If money is an issue can you talk to the doctor? Maybe they'd be willing to do some sort of deal for you? Or just stick with once a week.

I did twice a week, then once a week, then every 2 weeks

I would say once a week at the least if you have issues.

Everyone is different of course, but for me, every 2 weeks is helping most at this point. I started when I found out I was pregnant, about 8 weeks in, because with my mess of back probs I was scared! I have degenerative disc disease throughout my spine, facet issues, degen. joint disease, l4-l5 herniation & spinal instability at l5 & sacrum where segments are essentially broken and crunch into other vertebrae, so it's a bit more than just achy back treatment. I feel your pain! Even if it is different, I feel ya!

I was going 3xweek, but usually it takes an intense start to get things behaving, and after you've gone for a bit your body parts stay in place better. My chiro says "It's easier to stay healthy than get healthy" and it's so true. Or what passes as healthy for any given person. After a couple months, I was down to weekly, then missed an appt. and have been ok with bi-weekly, overall.

The frequency of adjustments usually decreases, not increases, as you go but being pregnant changes everything! Weirdly enough, I hurt more earlier in the pregnancy, not sure if it's because she helped me, if I was being adjusted too frequently, or if it's a hormonal thing. If you don't feel better from going more often after a few weeks, I'd definitely question the treatment plan.
