Hi ladies... I would very much like to have a natural birth experience, however, my only option in the area is using the hospital. That being said, I would like to explore the Bradley or HypnoBabies methods.

Has anyone found either to be exceptionally helpful? When is the best time to begin the programs?

Thanks so much!

I've had 2 successful hospital natural births using hypnobirthing and hypnobabies. It is a 6 week course so you would want to start at probably about 30 weeks or so.

I am more of a Bradley person myself. That being said I think you should research each one and decide which one you like better. There have been people successful with both. If you are wanting to take actual classes the sooner you find one the better. They usually fill up fast!

I took bradley classes and really thought they were great! A ton of information, and I love that. Definitely look into a class soon as you can, they are 12 weeks long (usually) and you'll need to get registered early.

A hospital birth isn't necessarily so bad! Both my births were in the hospital (though Kate's barely counts, as she was born 10 minutes after I walked in the door). My hospital has very NCB-friendly policies, and I know that widely varies from hospital to hospital. But I think with information and the right "tools" in your bag you can have a great birth.

I bought this book with dd1:
Amazon.com: Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way: Revised Edition (9780452276598): Susan McCutcheon-Rosegg, Erick Ingraham, Robert A. Bradley: Books

And I love it. I'm actually taking it to work w/ me today because I'm 95% positive I'm pregnant, will find out tomorrow. I haven't tried hypnobabies but I've heard wonderful things about it!

I love the bradley book because no matter what type of birth you're planning it has amazing information in it for ALL pregnant women!
