I personally think inductions should only happen for a medical reason. Someone told me once "well we all take risks no matter what. I take the risk of taking my kids to the playground and they could get kidnapped". But the difference in the risks she describe is the fact that she's doing her best to reduce that risk, and with elective induction you're increasing risks.

And just to be clear, I am talking to the Dr. The mom wasn't expecting that. This is 100% on the Dr's head.

I read that original post and thought the same thing. "Good candidate for induction"....um, what?! Most people probably think that would be a great idea, and 'what's the harm?'.... ugh...

I'm VERY tempted to delete my signature and just post a TON of links to studies about the benefits of natural labor and vaginal birth when we get to that stage, haha.

Same here
