So my due date is creeping up on me and I just finally got to see my OB for the first time yesterday.. I'm a low risk pregnancy but the low risk maternity clinic kicked me out because I didn't want to follow their *Standard* of care, it was complete BS, they said my choices made me high risk. Also that because of my choices my baby was going to die (They had no medical reasoning behind this other then to attempt scare me into doing what they wanted) The first OB appointment I had the OB was out at an emergency so I didn't get to see him, my blood pressure was really high that appointment and I was concerned. So I started myself on a low sodium diet, checking my blood pressure twice a day. It dropped substantially, now it is back to acceptable levels.
We made up a birth plan to bring to the appointment. We met the OB and he was great, he trusts my intuition and recognizes that I AM a low risk pregnancy, he was baffled at how they acted at the clinic. He is on board with everything that we are for even with Clay catching the baby (Which everyone says they don't like to allow) He respected us and our decisions, he did say that there had to be trust between us especially about the epistinomy. That I needed to trust him to do what was right, which I do. He also will let me labour as long as I want and not push drugs. He is up to date on the latest SOCG guidelines. We came out of the appointment with trust in him and the other dr's he practices with and very happy, FINALLY..
It's nice to have this finally sorted out.

I wonder if your BP issues may have been anxiety about the appointments? Just a thought. I had high bp the first few appointments with my current doctor after some bad experiences with my past pregnancy/delivery. The trust just had to grow a bit for me to relax.

I'm glad you found someone you're comfy with! Hopefully you get the type of birth you're hoping for

I was thinking that, but when I went to the other Dr's that I hated it was still low.
