I had my 2nd baby, Lyla Rose, on November 24th. While I wanted a natural birth, I had been on the fence all along about whether or not I could do it. As luck would have it... I didn't end up having much of a choice with how FAST things went. I'm so happy with how things went, and I'd sign up for another ultra-fast natural birth for our next baby (provided its not at home or on the side of the road..lol!!)

My first baby I was induced at 37w5d, and the pitocin was rough. Labor was about 7 hours with that one. This baby was born at 39w3d, totally natural....no IVs, no drugs, no anything! Water broke around 8:30am. Contractions started about 9:45am. Got to the hospital and in my room at 10:45am, and had my baby at 11:42am.

I got to labor in the water for a bit, and I would HIGHLY recommend that to anyone wanting to go natural. It helps so much.

Natural contractions are also not nearly as bad as pitocin contractions. The so-called "ring of fire" everyone talks about also was nothing, IMO....lasts about 10 seconds til nature takes over and numbs things.

I"m just so happy with how it went. My recovery is much faster. I felt energized and alive after having her. Also....with my first it felt like I was kicked in the crotch really hard for weeks. I had a 2nd degree tear (internal). This time, it barely feels like i have any swelling and had no tearing whatsoever. Seriously, I think I'd be up for sex again in a couple weeks..wow.

Anyways, here is the link to my full birth story:

And here's my baby girl in her going home outfit just before we left the hospital:

COngrats on a beautiful baby girl. I read your birth story. It sounds wonderful minus the panicky nurses and ****** OB. I can't believe they told you that they would give you drugs to stop you from pushing-- what a joke! I would have loved to see you stay in the water and catch the baby yourself! I guess there's always a next time.

Congrats again.

Congratz! I agree, the ring of fire wasn't bad to me either but it hurts like the dickens for some women - I hope that's not me next time!!!

And yes, natural contrax are much easier than pit ones!!

Congrats!!! She's gorgeous. I would seriously write a complaint about the OB and staff, that's just ridiculous.

That's great that you delivered that fast and still didn't tear!

Congrats on your beautiful LO and NCB!

I agree on the ring of fire- maybe we're just lucky, but I went numb pretty quickly, too.

Congratulations on your baby girl and on a wonderful birth!!! I hope I can have a fast labor and labor in a tub with my next baby. That sounds great!

I don't remember feeling the "ring of fire" either.
