i am 36w 2d pregnant and while most of the time it feels like baby is head down (i feel hiccups way down low) other times i feel them on my right side and even under my ribcage! at this point shouldn't he be head down ALL the time?
i have an appt w/ my doc on monday so i guess he can check his position then. i know babies often go head down once labor begins, but i am still nervous!
my dr is VERY mother friendly, and i don't see him trying to schedule a c/s or anything...but still!

baby probably is head down still, just the "waves" fromt he hiccups could be travelling up baby when it happens (just as some people who bodys move and shake when they have the hiccups)

Kennedy is head down, but sometimes (like yesterday) I was feeling the hiccups more to the right. My midwife has pretty much taught me how to feel her position so I'm not constantly freaking out that she's turned.

What about kicks? That's usually an indicator for me what position the baby is in this far along.

well i usually feel small movements on my lower left, it feels like a back always more to the right, and then bigger movements on the top right of my belly....so i can picture him in there head down, but then there's those random times where i feel hiccups up high in my ribs, and kicks all over.
meh.
i guess i'll find out more on monday.

I could never tell unless my MW told me

Are you sitting on a birth ball? That really helps get their head down and engaged!

I don't remember what hiccups felt like with DS, and I don't feel them much with this baby..

I do know though that with DS after he was born.. like the first few weeks, he would get hiccups and his whole body would move with them. SO maybe like someone else mentioned the hiccup could be effecting baby all over so you're gettng a rhythmic jab to the ribs with little feet every time hiccups happen.

I switched out my computer chair for my birth ball. I sat on that thing SO much with Kailey my MW couldn't even check my cervix really because Kailey's head was right there. She was in the process of checking me and asking if we had been DTD to stimulate labor and she didn't even finish the sentence she said, "Oh, nevermind I guess he can't get in"

Oddly enough, I never feel the hiccups down low, I always feel them in his butt. lol I think his hiccups are so strong they just shake his whole body. Both my midwife and I are pretty certain he's head down though.

i am no longer concerned, because earlier today i totally felt the baby drop. i had no idea that i would feel it so distinctly the way i did! my belly looks a lot lower ow too. i would say he is definitely head down.

just make sure you are sitting straight up or lying down, never with your knees up or cross legged or anything like that. Only wear loose clothing.
