I did think of something that is really hard for me postpartum. I had a rough time with the hormonal surges and imbalance in the three days after birth. I was so emotionally unstable and just felt really not like myself. It was also really painful when my milk came in on day three. My boobs got HUGE, rock hard and so painful, hot and heavy. I thought I'd be breastfeeding right up through pregnancy and not have to go through the painful engorgement process again, but I weaned last month (breastfeeding was very painful at that point and I think my milk had dried up), so I think I'll probably have to go through that again.
With ds#1 it was the hemorrhoids and them massaging my uterus.
With ds#2 it was the uterine contractions, they were just as bad as labor contractions! My midwife this time told me about the afterbirth tonic or whatever it's called and I will order it along with my birth kit.
Thank you for my beautiful siggy Vicki!
I also felt shortness of breath after both of my deliveries. I had an overall feeling of weakness that I cannot tolerate. I didn't have uterine contractions with my first, but boy oh boy, they were absolute hell with my second.
I probably shouldn't have read this I think ignorance would have been bliss Seriously though, it's good to be prepared for what I will be going through. Thanks for being so honest ladies I'll give my answer in April
