I didn't take either with any of my other pregnancies (3), and this time around, I am. I was late with my other three pregnancies, with my last one being 13 days late. I am wondering if any of you have had pregnancies where you did not take EPO, and then when you did. Did it make a difference? I so do not want to be 2 weeks late again with this baby!

ETA: I realize the RRL tea is suppose to help make the uterus more efficient, and not move things along or get you into labor earlier, but would still love to hear anyone's experience!! TIA!

I have taken EPO each time and this time I am taking EPO and also a labor prep formula called 5-W, there is also one I know called Dr. Christophers, you're supposed to take them in the last five weeks of pregnancy and gradually increase the dosage each week.

Where did you get 5-W Katie?

I took EPO with my first and second and went into labor around the same time (40w and 40w3d) but only did RRL tea with my second. It's hard to say if it made a huge difference, my labor was shorter, but then again being my second, that's common.

I got it from my midwives because they sell it at the birth center, but if you google it you can buy it online too! It's made by Nature's Sunshine

I took EPO in both pregnancies, but RLT only in my second. Both of my labors have been super-fast, and my second was two weeks before EDD. I don't really know whether or not the EPO/RLT helped, but I'm sure that it certainly didn't hurt. (Both are supposed to have some positive health effects aside from just hastening labor). If nothing else, it can help give you confidence and put you in the right frame of mind for labor, which is probably much more important than anything else!

I took both with both pregnancies. Lily (my 1st) was born at 39 weeks, Violet was born at 38w,3d. Both times I was ready to push after about 6 hours of later, but Vi got stuck so pushing her out took longer than Lily. I definitely plan to take both again when I have our next baby.

I have some red raspberry leaf tea that I bought from the midwifery office, but have not started taking it yet. I better get on that!

Some sources recommend that its safe to start RLT from 28 weeks, at least that's what women do in the UK! I usually use cups of loose leaf tea, so not sure about the capsules. Whom did you buy them from, and could they not give you advice? It is chemist direct evening primrose oil that you can't start until 37 weeks.

Honestly, with my clients, I have seen that sex has better results (with orgasms from the husband to use instead of EPO, and your orgasms instead of RLT). I have not seen a pattern from my Mama's to convince me that it actually makes a difference.

My personal experience- I used it in my second pregnancy. I had a lot of pelvic pain and sex was difficult. I still went to 42 weeks (for the second time).

I did not use it in my last pregnancy at all, but had regular sex, and went into labor on my due date. This option was more fun, made me feel better about myself, and was great for my marriage

I've only had 2 babies, and my first I was completely idiotic and listened to my doctor. so it doesn't really count.

with my second I did take RRLT, I have no idea if that did anything or not. But I did take EPO, orally and vaginally, and I think it really helped. I went into labor after having my membranes stripped (I was really anxious to go on into labor before I had a REC/S forced on me) at 39w4d.

With L, I took both, and I have no idea what role they played, but I had him on his due date, skipped right to active labor, which lasted 10 hours total, went from 1-10 cm in 2 hours and only pushed for 10 min.
