I have a stubborn little monkey in there. Induction failed.

I was given cervidil at around 9:30 am and contractions started coming right away, 5 minutes apart but only mild. I had to lay down for 2 hours and then we were able to get up and move around. Was checked at 12 by the dr, and the cervidil had fallen down and needed to be re-inserted (ouch!).

Mild cramping/contractions all day, doc came back at around 5:30, I was sooo sore (it felt like I had lost my virginity again) and sure enough, baby is still high, no cervical change, and the cervidil had slipped back down.

So, they took it out, and sent me home over night so we can get some proper rest.

Have to go back tomorrow morning to try again. Difference though between tomorrow and today is that I will be put on pitocin by late afternoon if cervidil is not doing the trick...

Frustrating.. but this means I have 1 more day for this baby to decide to come on it's own (kind of... considering I was given some cervidil today)

On the bright side- I am not going to be confined to a bed if I end up with pitocin. They are ok with me labouring it the shower, walking around, etc and are willing to monitor me where I am with the IV, so long as they can find the heart beat. So my NCB could still be possible!

Wishing you a wonderful labor and delivery tomorrow! I had pitocin with two of my labors and was able to get in the tub and walk around and it was not a bad experience at all. Can't wait to hear your birth story!

I'm sorry the induction didn't get things moving for you! That's good news that you'll still be allowed to move around during labor even with the pitocin. I hope it all goes well for you tomorrow!

I hope your LO decides to come tonight! But, if not, good luck tomorrow! That's awesome you can move around with a pitocin induction.

I'm glad they are letting you move around. While it's not the best thing in the world, pit is not that bad if they let you move around. I didn't have any pain meds with my newest little man and he was a pit induction. Not being stuck in bed made all the difference. Good luck and ELV's.

LOL "stubborn little monkey." My best friend had one like that - they induced labor and it still took a couple of days to come out. With that will power, imagine what the kid will be like as a teenager! Sending good vibes
