UPDATE #3
So sorry to keep u ladies wondering about me - I appreciate all your thoughts sent my way!
Last time I updated, labour had picked up again at 2:00am Tuesday morning and she was born at home, in our tub at 10:58am weighing 7lbs 40z & 21 1/4" long. She was 'sunny side up' so labour took a week bit longer then I'd hoped for baby #2, but overall, it all went well and I got away with only 2 sitches (compared with 3rd degree tear with my DS). So feeling not too bad, dealing with expected swelling, muscle soreness and delight 'rroids.
She has a ravenous appetite already.
We are totally in love with our little Adalyn Jane
Will try to post a pic if I can figure out how.

So I just discovered this board yesterday and my water broke last night!!

This is my 2nd baby and with DS, my midwife broke my water well into my labour, so it took me completely by suprise when it broke last night as I was lying in bed.

My main question is, does your water breaking so early in the game make for a more intense labour/contractions?? I'm a little freaked out by that.

Quick intro to me -- as I said, 2nd baby. 1st one was with midwives, but in hospital, very long, head got stuck in my pelvis, things stalled out, they put me on pit, I had some fentanal, delivered vaginally though, but with 3rd degree tears.
Hoping this time to go all natural, at home, in my tub!!

Currently, contractions are 10mins apart, about 40seconds long and manageable.

Wish me luck and thanks for any thoughts!!!

UPDATE:
Well, things have stalled out quite a bit. Only contracting about every 20mins now.
Any suggestions for kicking labour into gear would be appreciated.

UPDATE #2:
Well things stalled out for most of the day yesterday. It's now 2:43am and things seem to be picking back up again much more intensely and closer together. Hoping i get to meet my baby girl sometime in the next several hours...
Heartfelt thanks for all your thoughts and well wishes.

My water broke before active labor and then the contractions started within minutes and about 5-6 hours later they were about 2 minutes apart and consistant. Good luck! ELV!!!!!!!

with ds#3, my water broke 5.30am. contractions started at 12.15pm and I had him 3.5 hours later at 3.47pm.

Definately faster with my water breaking first.

goodluck

My contractions actually spaced out just before transition, so hopefully that was the case with you too and you are holding your baby now!

Welcome! And congrats, I hope things have picked up and your little girl is on her way. I have no advice, I had contractions a few mins apart and then my water broke and contractions continued as normal but got more intense. GL!

Congratulations!! So happy it went well. Only 2 stitches is great for a posterior baby! Good job, mama.
