Some women actually have orgasms while going through natural childbirth. It didn't happen to me, so I can't explain it very well.

I just did a quick google search and didn't find anything. I'm pretty sure you could read about it in some of the natural birth books, like that one by Ina May Gaskin.

Laura Shanley talks about it I believe.

Sometimes it's also referred to as 'ecstatic birth'.

I would have to say I came close in my last birth. I wouldn't have called it an orgasm, but def. was not as painful as my first vbac. It was a big--relief, I suppose.

I didn't actually experience orgasm, but each push did feel good, like foreplay, kwim? I didn't actually push the baby out tho (pushed for 3 hours) as I ended up with an emergency c-section. But since I didn't have pain meds, I was able to feel everything during pushing and it did feel good. Maybe if I'd actually been able to push him out, maybe I'd have had an orgasm tho.

VERY good analogy to what I try to explain when I say that pushing felt GOOD in comparison to simply laboring.
