Had a not so good appointment with my midwife today. My pulse, blood pressure, urine, etc were all fine. I got my first internal exam and it hurt like a beotch! My cervix is still posterior and baby is still floating (+1 station) She was having problems even reaching my cervix to check for dilation and it hurt so bad I told her not to bother. She said since baby isn't engaged and my cervix is so far back there is probably not much going on anyway . Now I'm concerned. She's sending me for a biophysical profile on Friday to make sure the placenta still looks good and then we'll go from there. She wants to try some things to get me into labor over the weekend if nothing happens before then.
I'm so upset that Claire isn't even engaged yet and there is basically nothing going on down there period. I'm so afraid that if the biophysical profile doesn't go well my cervix will be totally unfavorable for induction and I'll wind up with a c-section. I've been doing 2000-3000 mg of EPO orally and vaginally since 38 weeks, DH and I have been DTD every other day or so, I've been exercising most days. I started blue and black cohosh today. My midwife had given it to me at my last appointment and said it was totally up to me if I wanted to take it or not. Thank god I decided to start it this morning. I really wish I had been taking it all along. I feel like I've been doing everything I can and my body is still not cooperating. I'll be 42 weeks in 6 days and I feel like I'm running out of time.
Thanks for reading. I just needed to vent.

I'm sorry you are feeling so down! Claire can engage and labor can start super suddenly, so don't feel bad that she's not engaged yet. I'd keep doing what you are doing and don't get too nervous about the biophysical profile. Keep active, etc.
Oh bummer, Melissa! That has got to be SO discouraging, but like Shelley said, things can change quickly. I was closed up tight, with Eric still floating and zero progress of any sort, at my 40 week appointment...and I went into labor spontaneously the next day. My fingers are crossed that Claire decides to make her arrival soon!
Like everyone else said, things can change fast! I typically don't do much until I am *in* labor. And even if you are dilated or what not real early it doesn't always mean something will happen. I walked around for over a week at 4cm with my last baby! Hang in there!
Thanks ladies! I really do feel like she'll come on her own when she's ready but I was so bummed to not have made any progress at all yesterday. My midwife has some herbal stuff she's going to have my try over the weekend. I'll be 42 weeks on Monday and if she still isn't here I'm going to request another biophysical profile on Tuesday. As long as those are ok I think my midwife will be ok with waiting. I really hope she comes soon so all of this is irrelevant.

:hugs: My last DD came at 42.5 weeks, so I can understand where you are coming from. It's discouraging, no matter how much you remind yourself that baby will come when he/she is ready. It gave me a new respect for that fact though. I was the same way, I had a very posterior cervix and ended up having her the next night, so everyone else is right that things can change quickly.
I see your last post was over a week ago, any updates?
