Was so excited to find this practice and couldn't wait to use their services. I know a lot of ladies here have used them too. I seriously felt like their take on everything was an answer to my prayers. My first appt is scheduled for the end of the month, but I just called our insurance and found out they're not in network for us. I'm beyond heart broken I feel so defeated, they were my answer for a true try at a VBAC.

Any other provider suggestions that will NOT push interventions on me?

Dr. Bootstaylor, the Dr they partner with, is in our network. Has anyone gone to him for their pregnancy? How many Doctors practice in his office that you'd see?

To my knowledge Dr. Bootstaylor left the practice he was working with to persue Seebaby and Intown Midwifery . When I miscarried in January, I had to meet with him several times at Seebaby...and he is AWESOME!

I was thinking about using them this go around, but I have heard mixed reviews on the hospital that Intown is affiliated with. So I think I will stick with someone at Crawford Long or Dekalb Medical.

ANyway...enough about me. Here is a midwife that may be able to assist you in the Atlanta Metro Area (website below). She has been practicing for years, and is just now decided to branch out on her own.

Thanks so much for your suggestions, I'll look into it. I looked up SeeBaby's website and it appears that they only do U/S and are not a full service OB for weekly/monthly visits I've got a lot of research to do. I'm just so bummed. I had been researching Intown for many many months. They seemed like the best of both worlds to me.

I just called and unfortunately Womens Healthcare Network doesn't have any contracts with price insurance companies all they take is Medicaid.

Check out Dr. Tate. He catches at Emory Midtown and his office is in Norcross. He's been doing VBACs forever and ever and has really great outcomes. He's very active on the Atlanta ICAN forums and there are a lot of reviews of him on there. He doesn't do waterbirths though, which is one of the many perks of birthing with Intown.

Intown also offers great out of pocket fees. You might check into that. Many insurances cover the hospital fees, but just don't cover the Midwives for silly reasons. It's a good option and comparable to homebirth prices if you were to go that route.

That's I'll ask about their out of pocket fees. You're right, insurance covers Dr. Bootstaylor and the Atlanta Medical Center, but not Intown or the place that does their labs I left a message for them this afternoon and haven't heard back.
Unfortunately Dr. Tate is too far of a drive for me. I live in NW GA and would already be driving over half an hour for Intown. Driving to Dr.Tate would be easily an hour or more.

Have you heard of Life Cycle OB/GYN?

2739 Felton Drive
East Point, GA 30344

I know they have some CNM on their staff, and they take insurance. My friend, who is a home delivery midwife recommends , Meka Hall who works at Life Cycle. She said if you call there, ask for Meka and she will be glad to speak with you.

I am late to the party but was going to suggest dr Tate too just because of what I have read on the ICAN boards.

Thank you very much for your help ladies. I just got a call back from Intown and was told everything is file with insurance under Dr. Bootstaylor. I'm so relieved!!! This means since he is in our network I can still use them.
