Does anybody know of some good books or websites that are geared towards husbands, about how they can be a good support during labor? We're going to a class together, but he's so scholastically minded I think he'd like to have a book or printouts of what he can do. There's a ton of info that is geared towards the woman that might have a few tidbits for the husband, but I'm looking for something that is mostly geared towards him.

Yes! Bradley has a good book called the Husband Coached Childbirth. It's great. Penny Simkin's Comfort Measure's for labor is another great one for partners to read.

.. I have more, but the baby is crying. Will reply with more later...

The birth partner is another great book by Simkin

For dad's who like numbers: Pushed is a great one.

Many dads enjoy the movies Pregnant in America and the Business of Being Born.

And for dads who don't enjoy full books, I would search Penny Simkin's website for articles, show youtube videos of comfort measures, and things like that.

I had my DH watch The Business of Being Born when we started TTC and that got him on board with my plans for NCB and a home birth. I got him The Birth Partner which I think he skimmed and said he liked it. I never really looked at it so I can't say much about it. Our Hypnobabies course had a big section for dads and he was very involved in all the classes so he got most of his info there. I think he went into my birth feeling very secure in his role.

Where did you see The Business of Being Born? Is it online somewhere or can you get it out of the Red Box. I have only heard of it once but would like to watch it....with the hubby.
