So I've been lurking on this forum for awhile, and I decided to finally say hello. I haven't had a natural birth, although my epidural failed so it certainly felt like I was going unmedicated. I had a horrible birthing experience with my son for a wide variety of reasons and I've decided for my next child I will be going natural. I haven't yet decided if I want to have a homebirth, so that's another reason why I'm here. Of course I won't (hopefully) be pregnant for a few years. I'm just trying to learn some stuff. I hope I'm welcome here.
Hey! I don't post here a whole lot, but like you, I read for info
Some smart ladies here. This is my first and I've decided to go natural, so I'm learning all I can. I'm sorry your birth was so rough
Ya know, I've had people tell me I should just go ahead with the drugs this time to "see what childbirth is like" then make the desicion to go natural next time... makes no sense to me whatsoever... I think you'll learn from what these girls have to share that it can be such a wonderful experiance when you are educated, I'm really getting excited about the birth, when before I was affraid. I hope next time around is better for you - and I have to say, your little boy is just beautiful!
childbirth sure can be something sooo wonderful. and i do beleive there is more to it than just pushing out a baby. the end result is AMAZING< and i kow it is the same end result for everyone, but the experience of pure joy and bliss when you have a gentle birth is something that you get to OWN for a very long time.
here i am 3 months later still totally vibrating from the birth of Lily. it was soo amazing, and totally empowering, and i just know that if you want to you can have the same thing with your next one~
Hey Heather... you were actually my inspiration to try for natural next time. I saw how happy you were after you had Lily, and how wonderful you made it seem, so after my horrible experience, I really want to try to have a better birth experience with my next child, and after all the pain I had with Joshua, I'm pretty sure I could handle the pain of a natural.
