What are your inspirational songs you listen/listened to during labor and your birthing time?

Of course I'll be listening to my Hypnobabies... but enjoy relaxing to some nice songs. I have a couple Enya songs and a couple Coldplay songs. And I am loving the Mumford and Sons song- I Will Wait.

I was in the hospital and there was no music. But, if I had the chance to choose a music to help me reduce labor pains, I would choose greensleaves and kenny G's. I usually played them the whole pregnancy and I think it will help my baby to relax either.

I have my Hypnobabies on my iPhone and have started another playlist to listen too. So I can use headphones or let it play out loud. If I were going to hospital I'd do same so I wouldn't have to talk to anyone

Oh great question!

I made a spoitfy playlist of some soothing songs. I'll post it here:
Imogen Heap- the fire, sleep,
Zoe Keating- fern, we insist, legions, frozen angels
The Innocence Mission- happy bday, it is well, a wave is holding
Iron and Wine-great heights,
Rising Appalachia- across blue ridge mntns
Besides Daniel- buckets
The Brilliance- breath, shephard strong
The Album Leaf- the light, tied knots
Neko Case- hold on
Noise Ratchet- a way to the heart
Sufjan Stevens- transfiguration, to be alone with you
Jeff Buckley- hallelujah
Feist- intuition
Of Monsters and Men- slow and steady, love love love
Explosions in the Sky- its natural to be afraid, your hand in mine
Bon Iver-perth
Little Dragon-twice
St. Peter St. Paul Cathedral Choir
Molly Parden- song for my mother
Tyler Lyle- for love to come, she dreams in colour, love story,
Azure Ray- safe and sound
Marissa Nadler- love again
Rosie Thomas- paper airplane
Coldplay- now my feet won't touch the ground, God put a smile on your face
Sigar Ros
Angus and Julia Stone- hold on
Ingred Michaelson- love and some verses

I'm not much help, but I'll be listening to the Psalms from my audio bible. I can't think of anything more calming to me than that. I also have a mix from our wedding that I might use to help with visualization.

I only listened to Hypnobabies and didn't have any desire to listen to anything else. If I were to listen to music it would probably have been Tori Amos and maybe some hymns.

This is like the playlist from my favorite Pandora station!

I'm working on putting together a playlist with a few on Que's list (Feist, Bon Iver, Iron and Wine, etc.), and then some Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Suzanne Vega, and other strong female folky voices.
ETA: And Eva Cassidy.

I have a classical guitar CD that's the same recording as a vinyl record my parents used to play to put me to sleep when I was a little kid. The music has relaxed me for over 30 years, so I'm thinking that will work well.

Gosh, I had made this great playlist to labor to. Had it all laid out on my iPhone and when labor kicked in that went out the window! I remember getting to the birth center and my back labor was so bad, dh asked if I wanted my music and I growled, "I don't want my freaking music I just want you to rub my back!" Lol poor guy. I never did get my music. Hopefully next time I'll know better to slow down and put the stupid music on to help relax. That back labor really put a damper on my plans.
