Hey there girls! I probably won't be very active in here until about June/ July... When my ddc starts the inductions because all their babies are too big and all ... Not that it isn't a real thing.. Nobody get your panties in a bunch! ... I have had 3 kiddos.. 1st was induced because my water broke and nothing else happened... I got one shot of Nubian with her and hated it. Number two and 3 were natural deliveries with no pain medication. And number 4 now, will be natural as well.. Unless something goes horribly wrong! So ill be here a bit:: and offer support and advise...

Hi, congrats! I really try not to, but I always end up irritated with certain types of posts in the DDCs and it definitely gets worse as due dates loom closer.

Hey! Welcome! I totally feel you. I took cover here at the end of my pregnancy. It's especially hard, because I have carried 3 of my babies past 42 weeks and EVERYTHING irritates me about DDC's when moms are talking about being "done" at 36 weeks.

We'll be here when you need us!

Ditto. Though my last was "only" 10 days late I'll probably abandon my DDC (and FB) for the last month or two. I just can't take all the comments!

Welcome! I too know what you mean and it takes all I can to keep shut. My really good friend delivered a 5lb something baby and her doctor has her convinced she should have had a csection because she was too small. Apparently not, she delivered vaginally. And her doctor went straight to the vacuum for pushing. My friend is now convinced this is all normal and if her next is any bigger then there's no way she can push it out. ***? I could seriously slap doctors who do that.

It's frustrating sometimes!! And I generally go late as well! Fully expecting this gone am early August baby.. I've done 8d late. 40w on the dot, and then 12d late.. And I also get soooo frustrated with the mamas who are "done" at 36-37 weeks! I've also heard it sooner and later.. But it rubs me the wrong way no matter when it happens! I feel like I am "done" when my baby tells me they are coming! And I know so many mamas who have delivered 10lb babies that I get that in some cases your baby is too big.. BUT particularly if you have previously delivered a baby! This is NOT the case! Anyhow! Just saying I agree with staying away from FB and ddc and even church and social events towards the end because i mostly want to slap everyone!

I delivered a 9lb 10oz baby just shy of 42 weeks and a 8lb baby at 42.5 weeks... I don't understand how people can get delivered that early when all of my doctors have refused to do even a vaginal check until the end of my 40th week. Two of my cousins just delivered their three babies at 24 weeks 5 days and almost 29 weeks (twins) and they keep telling me that my baby should come by 37 weeks so I don't need to count right until 40 weeks for my DD, I just laugh and tell them they are crazy. They can keep their 2lb babies, I love my healthy happy chubby post-due-date babies

Oh my goodness! As if that's normal?!? I'm sure their babies were in the NICU for weeks/months? How can anyone go through that and come out on the other side thinking everything was okay? I would think they would be desiring of a full term baby!

My first came at 37 weeks on the dot, weighed 6.5 lbs, and he had breathing complications that kept him in the hospital for a week. It was really stressful! My second was 10 days late, weighed 8.5 lbs, and he was SO much healthier and sturdier! I couldn't get over his strength! It was amazing! It made that extra time so worth it!

I will admit that I was "over it" for the last few weeks with my second because I had been in labor for over 5 weeks by the time he was born. THAT is what I was tired of. But not the pregnancy in general.

Anyway, I hope I have more patients this time if I go late, having been through it once already.

I actually went to high school with a girl who stopped drinking water and eating in an attempt to start premature labor. That's an extreme case (I hope); she gave the baby up for adoption after this idiotic stunt. But I have had many friends who decided to go against doctors orders and do everything they could to start labor before they were even 38 weeks. It makes me so sad for those poor babies.

That's horrifying. Those are the kinds of doctors you hear horror stories about.

A-freaking-bob! There's a reason doctors (used to) want to wait until the baby was ready! I understand that there are sometimes health concerns that prevent babies from coming on their own. For the most part though, the baby knows when it's time - otherwise we'd have a very unpopulated world! I hope the DDC doesn't get that bad, though. Does it usually? I may have to stay away too, with the lack of tolerance I already have for people saying stupid things

I've been in two JM ddc and I will pop in to give congrats toward the end but if you check through, say, the January ddc right now it will give you an idea of what the topics will all look like in July

Granted JM is one of the mor widely "crunchy" and also more informed than most groups of women on other sites I would say .. Not saying all other groups have no clue... I'm just saying I think our groups have more informed women than other groups is all

You can't be openly crunchy though in a DDC. At least not in mine. You were considered judgemental if so. Granted, I am not a complete "crunchy" mom. My hubby calls me a soggy piece of granola lol. I won't go into what we do or don't do but we're split on things lol.
