I normally love music/singing, but during labor, I don't do well with strong melodies or lyrics. I had a yoga relaxation CD That just played on repeat the entire time. It was very calm and quiet, so more of a white noise than anything. My Bradley instructor used it during class and I fell in love with it so I went out and bought it. I think having practiced relaxation with it in class and at home probably helped me relax in labor and is the only reason I liked it in labor.
I put a wide range of music on our iPod for labor. Whether I want to listen to it is the question. This whole pregnancy I have hated the sound of music for some odd reason, I can't stand the radio or commercials that have music playing.
