My little lady was born at 8:26pm today. Her labor was terrifying and fabulous at the same time. I got my "natural birth" (with pitocin). But I was about 3.2 seconds from a c-section because her placenta abrupted (and she was having deep decels). I pushed her out in literally 3 minutes and three pushes. She is a miracle babe She is also a boob monster...great little eater. I am so smitten!! She was 7lbs even and 21in long. I'll post pics from my real computer when I get home. She is so cute, looks just like me as a newborn, just smaller.

Congratulations! What does placenta abrupted mean? That's not the same thing as ruptured I hope?

^^Yeah. An abruption is a rupture. It actually started over two weeks ago, when I had a bleeding episode. Apparently it ruptured along one side, but a clot started to form where it ruptured, so nothing looked off on sonograms. When I delivered her, I also delivered a clot the size of her. Labor was scary, but I knew very little of what was happening while it was going on. My team was awesome. I am really grateful for how it played out. Although, given the circumstances, a c-section would have been just fine. I feel lucky she did fine in there for those two weeks!

I have had an abruption, but mine ended in an emergency section. Not really fun. Placental abruption is when the placenta pulls away from the lining of the uterus. They blamed mine on a very short cord.

So glad you and baby are okay!! It is scary!!

Congrats on your lil lady!!!!!!

So scary! Glad she's okay and you are as well. My son gave me a scary surprise at the end of labor as well but luckily my midwives didn't tell me till later and he was fine.
