Hi ladies! My name is Mindy and I am due in November with baby #3. I was just scrolling through the boards here, and love so many of the topics that are being discussed here. I would love to join if that's okay!
My first labor was really fast and I had no intention of going drug free, but when I wasn't given the option of getting an epidural, did it and was so proud of myself. Since I knew I could do it, I read as much as I could about natural labor and my 2nd son was also born with a drug free birth. Both labors were under 6 hours--and the best part was how great I felt after each labor.
I was shocked with my 2nd birth at how much the nurses were pushing drugs on me, and how much of a battle it was the whole time in labor. Like DH says, it's like they don't know what to do with a woman who doesn't want pain relief. Anyways, we have hired a doula this time around and I will be so grateful for the knowledge and support she'll give me.
I can't wait! LOL
I look forward to getting to know you and hopefully being able to contribute!
Hi. I agree that a lot of nurses don't seem to know what to do with a woman who wants a natural birth.
I am Jenifer, #11 due August-ish. I have had almost every kind of birth, epi, hospital natural, c-section, homebirth. I absolutely prefer homebirth, but money is an issue so this baby will be born natural at the hospital birth center, IF I make it.
