I'm so excited to have made it this far. I want to start looking into birth classes.

Any recommendations? I've also always wanted to try yoga to learn about relaxation and proper breathing. Any thoughts on this and when should I start?

DH's work schedule won't allow him to go, so I am thinking of doing an in class one alone, and birth boot camp online so he can be a part of it. Can you do a birth class alone?

Thanks ladies!

When my husband couldn't make mine, my doula stood in as my partner. That said, you can do a class alone. I would find one that focuses on natural birth and techniques.

We did Bradley together, and it was a wonderful experience. It's a lot of classes, and there's homework, but I am so grateful for all that we learned, and I think that it brought us closer together and helped us prepare for parenting, not just labor.

I ended up with complications, an early and unscheduled c-section, a preemie in the NICU for 7 weeks, and 3 months of trying and failing and breastfeeding. And while Bradley truly equipped us for natural delivery and breastfeeding, in the end, it also helped us navigate together when we were faced with decisions that were not part of our hopes/plans/expectations.

I highly recommend it.

I had to go to mine alone because BF wouldn't. We don't have options here, it is the hospitals birth class or nothing. That being said, it was surprisingly pro-natural birth and it ended up teaching me all I needed to know - that you can breathe this way, that way, or another way, be in any position you want, but in the end you do what feels right to you at the time.
