Hey mommies! I have lurked here for a while and figured I would go ahead and post. I really want to try going natural for this birth. Its my first baby - a girl! Can't wait for her to get here
So anyways, how do you deal with the women who say, OMG why wouldn't you want the drugs? OMG get the epidural! Why put yourself through all that pain? Every time I try to explain how I want to feel my body doing what is natural they all look at me like this . I usually just smile and nod and say, well, I guess if I get in there and can't do it, I won't turn down the epidural. I dunno.... I really want to do this naturally! My mother had me naturally - and I was an 11 lb. baby! And she said that it really wasn't bad. She loved it! And reading all you ladies' awesome natural birth stories inspires me to want to do it!!!
The only thing that I have been nervous about at all this whole pregnancy is that she won't turn in time and I will have to have a c-section. She is still feet down - I really really don't want a c-section because I can't seem to take any painkillers without throwing up - so I want little of that as possible.
Sorry so long - looking forward to getting to know you ladies!
HI welcome to the board.
I never really had to deal with the whole just get the epi thing becuase everyone I know knows I am terrified of needlesand would never go near one willingly. lol
Honestly I don't get why people want to stick a hollow needle in their spinal column but I don't go around asking them.lol That would probally be my response to them. Or ask them if they ever heard of a reverse epidural. When they say no tell them to look into it and get back to you.
There is a good site called spinningbabies.com. My kids didn't turn till 30+ weeks though.
Congrats and welcome!
Don't get too stress about the position just yet.. go to that site crunchymama suggested!
Have you gone through a childbirth class? That helps so much! Or reading? I thought the "dr sears" BIRTH BOOK was awesome! It was such a support for me.
I think natural childbirth is not only an act, but a state of mind.
I too had the people say "get the epi get the epi"
I just always said, I am prepared, I can do it, NO drug is safe, and women have been doing it for centuries! And, you can add about your Mom doing it.
I think you are STRONG and CONFIDENT! GOOD FOR YOU!!
