  • I am a mommy of 3 little ones with one on the way. For my own personal research, as well as information for a class in taking, I was wondering who all would like to share their experiences having their other children present at their siblings' birth; especially small children. If possible I'd love to if someone is willing. Looking forward to hearing what or didn't work for you lovely ladies!

With my second birth we let my Dd (18 mo att) come in after delivery, she was outside playing during labor, she saw the placenta come out and cried...With number three the kids were sleeping in the next room, dd asked 'mommy was that you screaming last night?' Lol
So they haven't watched yet, for this birth they will be 5, 3, and 23mo my oldest wants to watch, but I guess it depends! If she would rather go play or needs to sleep, her comfort is more important to me than her participation. Ds is too sensitive I think... He may need to avoid this birth. And the littlest ds probably will be a distraction.

When my wife gave birth to a second child, she was stuck in front of me, although the birth was quick and painless. Do you want the children to see this? I would not advise.

What do you mean 'stuck'? Were you not involved? Did you think it was offensive?
