We had our baby in a home-waterbirth! She turned out to be a girl, 8 and 1/2 lbs. Gorgeous little grunter. She grunts and groans a lot so I call her Grunt Grunt Groan. Silly, I know.

She's in my lap right now so it's hard to type. I'll write a birth story sometime in the near future.

First question, what does delayed vaxing mean??? I saw it in your signature line and dont know what it means. Now onto my congrats and stuff.

Congrats! Did you do it in your bathtub???? How do you do a water birth at home? I would like to have a home birth but DH would be no good with it and because I had a C last year they have this "uterus eruption both you and the baby could die on the table" fear in my head. So I wont do it. I am pushing for a VBAC even though some of my OB's are totally against it. I think they have "lawsuit" fear in their heads, lol. Somebody must have sued an OB recently cause now the rule is going back to -once a C-section always a C-section". If it was 3 yrs ago they wouldnt be saying this. Its something they started again in the past 2-3 years. First it was that rule. Then they let VBACS be allowed because of all the C's being done. and now its the old way again.

Delayed vaxing is putting off vaccinations until you know your baby is ready for them. A lot of people I know are doing a vaccine schedule that's closer to the schedule they use in Japan where you don't vax until 2 years and then they don't do nearly as many.

Secondly, YES YES YES YOU CAN!!!!!! You are more likely to rupture your uterus in the hospital than you are at home, because of interventions (namely pitocin and cervadil). Water birthing at home is actually (according to those I know who have experienced it) a piece of cake. You can either use your bathroom tub (depending on it's size and your comfort) or you can rent or buy a tub. I hear that for renting the AquaDoula is heavenly, and to buy the fishie pool (available at in his hands) is cost effective and comfy. Even if you can't do a homebirth I would really encourage you to try transferring care to someone who supports VBAC and natural labor... You're body isn't broken, it's not defective, and given the support it needs rather than the interventions that OBs want it will perform beautifully, I have faith in you! Good luck!
