I know its uncomfortable sweetie! But letting them get air and dry out is the best thing for them. I was cut "from one hole to the other" when I delivered my daughter and I had one very long "mattress style" stitch downthere. I would sometimes lay a towel on the bed and just lay with my legs spread and let it get air. Some say to put a lamp by you and let the bright light shine on them. You can also try filling a rubber glove with ice and give them a little ice now and then. You can find herbs and tea leaves that you can boil and fill your peri bottle with that help aid the healing and ease the pain. Also you can get herbal sprays that assist in the healing and pain management of your bottom http://www.motherlove.com/products_baths.php You can find things like this other places too, but this is just an example of what I am talking about.
Have you thought about doing sitz baths? I didnt do them, I just sat in my actual bathtub for about an hour a day (before I let them dry out for a while) but I have heard a lot of women say that the sitz baths are awesome! Hope that helps hon!
I layed in the wirlpool one night at the hospital but other then that I have been sitting in a regular tub of water almost every day so far- or every other.
Never tried a sirz bath and I guess I am not really sure what they are
Witch hazel (herb) is highly recommended. I am sure you can find it at your local health food store. One of my friends added it to her peri bottle and used it when she went to the bathroom. She said it helped so much!
