I was due on the 7th. I've had two previous c-sections and I'm planning a VBA2C. The doctor who works with my midwife has already scheduled my c-section for the 14th. I am telling them I am not going and do not plan on going. I've done my research and know that the risk of rupture past 40 weeks does not increase. However...I've been having tons of contractions and really would like to get this baby out! I know babies come when they are ready but does anybody have any experience using blue or black cohosh to induce labor? My midwife did mention it to me but we really didn't get into yet. I have an appointment tomorrow night and will discuss it with her then but was interested in knowing if anyone had tried it. I am not dilated at all as of my last visit but I am about 75% effaced. Thanks

I have never used them. I just wanted to give you lots of positive labor vibes so baby will come on out on his/her own!!

I have never used them either. From what I read, they have the potential to be dangerous, and I wouldnt advise anyone to use them unless under the care of a midwife. And by that, I mean, in her office at the time of use. The best thing you can do, is let your contractions come naturally. Any type of forced contractions can make the chance of uterine rupture greater.

My MW doesnt use it until 42 weeks, and its very touchy with VBACs. I would suggest waiting until 42 weeks, and in the meanwhile try some RRL tea, EPO, etc
