I have been trying to find any studies that show the relation between medicated births and neonatal outcome vs unmedicated births and neonatal outcome. I have read something similar indicating that the medicated group was more likely to have birth trauma, more need for resucitation, lower APGARs and other things but I cannot find it for the life of me! I did find a few studies showing those results but it was based on homebirth vs hospital which in essence is the same because 90 something percent of hospital births are medicated and 0 homebirths are, but I need a study that is based purely on medicated vs unmedicated.

Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

Thanx

Jenny

Thanx Michelle. I'm really trying to find a study that compares neonatal outcomes between the two groups (medicated and unmedicated). I'm getting frustrated because there aren't any studies that I can find that do just that. The studies I see are comparing narcotics to epis or something similar.
