we have 3 hospitals near us to tour, but first was the one that is 1/2 mile or less from our house, and we absolutely LOVED it. it was soooo quiet. it is a VERY new hospital, but is in a team of hospitals that have been around for a long time. but with it being new there were only 4 rooms out of 30 that were filled. it just seemed like such a great place. the rooms are like suites, and every room is private, and they all have plasma big screen TVs! with internet LOL

the only downside was no tub, but there is a shower. although i dont really know if i expect to labor in the shower too much there, im planning that more for home, but it is there - so to be left alone, stand up and get off any machine i want to, i might very well jump in!

i did talk to her about birth plans and natural childbirth and VBACs and everything seemed good. and with it being so much quieter and calmer, im sure it will be even more ok than i felt it was today. she did warn me that if requests on the birth plan are too strict, then plan on a cesarean so im going to keep my birth plan short and sweet - no constant monitoring, no IV or meds, no epi, no induction..etc basically you can come check my dialation, my heart, baby's heart every once in a while, but just let me give birth and other than that leave me alone or i will go home and just have this baby in my bathroom!

so we are still going to check the other 2 hospitals, but i think this is our best option and will be a very nice place to have baby

that sounds awesome! And a bonus that it's super close to your house. Then you dont' have to stress as much about leaving "in time" You could leave your house at 9 cm and get there in time!

Oh so nice of her to warn you about your birth plan not being to strict , we all know that a strict birth plan is a medical reason to get a c-section ( sorry , feeling very sarcastic today lol ) anyhoo I'm glad you liked the hospital , that's a plus and with being so close that allows for a longer home labor !
