Hi, everybody! I'm looking for women who have had to use progesterone supplements in order to stay pregnant. I had one pregnancy (that I know of) that ended at about 5 1/2 weeks because my progesterone level dropped and I started my period. If I weren't testing daily from about 11 dpo I'm not sure I would have caught my second pregnancy that resulted in my beautiful daughter, Abigail. Basically, as soon as I got the faintest positive on a 5 day early HPT I had to rush to the doctor to be put on hormones in order to stay pregnant. I actually waited a little bit to see if I started cramping and as soon as I did, I started the progestorone suppositories and stayed on them for the first trimester. I later received my test results that indicated a drop in my progesterone.
Anyway, my question is, after one successful pregnancy is it possible to stay pregnant on my own or can I expect to have multiple miscarriages unless I go to the doctor for progesterone?
Does anyone have experience with this? I will ask my doctor next time I see him.
Hello! Your daughter is gorgeous!! Unfortunately I haven't been pg yet, so I don't know the answer to your question. I've taken progesterone pills, but only to bring on AF. I hope one of the other ladies here can answer your question.
As far as where else to post this, perhaps the Medical Assistance board. I know several of the ladies there are on various meds. Or perhaps the PCOS board, there's the TTC PCOS and a subforum on that board for PG while PCOS. I "think" I've seen posts there relating to progesterone.
