I had a doctors appointment with my doctor and asked her about OPK's. I told her I seem to miss ovulating with the kits but I can feel when I am ovulating. I have very regular cycles 28-30 days and I never miss a month. She said that the window to catch the surge is pretty small and easily missed. She said for me to save my money and just make sure I am BDing on days 11, 13, 15 and 17. What do you ladies think of that? She is consulting with another doctor on if I should start IUI's or not. I hate waiting to get phone calls back! Every time the phone rings I get all excited and them it's such a let down when it isn't her!!!

Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh at your let down from the phone calls....I do the same thing.

From what I understand, if you BD 3-4 times a week (basically every other day) your chances of conceiving are very good. So, if you BD on cds 11, 13, 15, and 17 you should be covered. However, I would also add cd9 in there as well if you can.

Got a question for you...........Is that a rotty puppy in your siggy?

what Jess says! I've only used OPKs a couple of cycles, and have found that I get multiple days of positives and other ladies don't get positives at all. And they're expensive too. . . So my doctor just suggested we try to BD every 2-3 days as the spermies can live in fertile CM for several days waiting for the eggies.

Good luck & do keep us updated!!!

I didn't have a good experience with OPKs either. Total waste of money for me (yet, I gave in and bid on a pack of digital OPKs and WON! they're on the way. I hope they give me better results!)

I have no luck with OPK either...my dr said the same thing...wast of money and that I shouldn't to it, but I still do it sometime just to see--havn't come up right yet. BD my dr want my dh and I to do it everyday from day 10 to 17...ya like that will happen, so she is okay with us trying to get every-other day is. So I think you are cover on the bd end...gl

My rotty is my baby too. He turned 2 the beginning of January. I think I'll start a thread about pet pics.

I can usually tell when I'm ovulating, except for this month! No noticeable CM at all! I like the OPK's 'cause at least it agrees with me on when I'm O'ing. Plus we try to BD every other day from a few days after AF to when she starts again! My Dr suggests "just have lots of lots of sex".
