I am Esmy (35) and my DH is Tony (39) and we have been TTC since Dec '02
For years, I thought I was the problem because my OB/GYN dr said that I couldn't get pregnant because of my weight. And then we had a SA and found out that DH sperm are at 4% and only 75 % of those are good.
So we have done several IUI's with Clomid and with Femera. But after the last SA which increase his sperm amount but the precentage was still excatly the same. We are now looking at donor sperm because we can't afford IVF.
Jump right in! We love having new members. I'm Sherry (38) DH is 39, and we have 2 boys (9&7). It took us 11 months to conceive our first, and now over 2 years TTC#3.
I'm sorry about your dh's sperm. Don't lose hope. You never know when it could happen. All it takes is 1 good swimmer that reaches the eggie. As small as the odds may seem, you could still get pregnant. Otherwise, good luck with the donor sperm.
This is a very nice and supportive group, I hope you decide to stay.
My name is Kimberley (35), married to Jason (36). We have only been actively TTC since a loss this spring. I know you a bit from TTC #1. I look forward to getting to know you better.
I'm Angela,30, married to Troy, 29, and we are TTC our first after a loss in Aug.
I just want to throw a thought out there for you two----have you looked into research grants for IVF, or sometype of medical study (many times doctors want to test out a new dosage -same drugs- and see if it works). It could be a way to get IVF for free or low cost (i have a friend who found out she was pregnant yesterday from a grant program in NY). Check with your department of health (for your state), or call up some RE people and just ask!
I would keep having DH give you some "home treatments"---you never know that one little guy could make it!
Good luck with what ever path you choose and I hope you get your BFP soon!
I'm Becky (34), my DH is also named Tony (35). We've been TTC #1 since January. I'm finishing my 3rd cycle with Clomid, and am waiting for new insurance to kick in January 1st before heading to see a fertility specialist. I co-host this wonderful board along with Jessica. There ladies here are fantastic & very supportive. I hope you feel right at home with us and I look forward to getting to know you better.

“I think that the best thing we can do for our children is to allow them to do things for themselves, allow them to be strong, allow them to experience life on their own terms, allow them to take the subway...let them be better people, let them believe more in themselves.”
“Motherhood is a choice you make everyday, to put someone else's happiness and well-being ahead of your own, to teach the hard lessons, to do the right thing even when you're not sure what the right thing is...and to forgive yourself, over and over again, for doing everything wrong.”
Hello Esmy and . I'm Casey (35) and dh is Tim (26). We've been TTC #1 since October of 2007. We are also dealing with the male factor. I was thinking all the time that it was all me too because of my endo and all my surguries for it. Then we did the SA and realized that it's about 50/50. We've done 3 rounds of Clomid and one IUI. We are taking a small break right now from medical procedures and just doing the Clomid for a month or two. If that doesn't take, then we are going to start the IVF process. I'm glad that you decided to join us. This group of ladies are awesome and great to vent to or just bounce idea off.....good luck with whatever you decide to do!
Welcome! I'm Heather (34) and DH is (32) - we've been TTC #3 since June. I'm looking forward to getting to know you -these ladies are wonderful! Good luck and I do hope that you find some encouraging news with IVF grants, etc.
And Angela, I will look into grants, I hadn't thought of that before! Thanks for the idea![/b]
Angela rocks!!
Hi and . I'm Jessica (41) and DH is Paul (38) and we've been TTC#1 since January, went thru 1st round of Clomid in October with no luck, this month we are on Clomid and did IUI on the 9th and hoping for a Thanksgiving BFP. As Becky mentioned, we co-host this awesome board together and we are so glad to have you here. Everyone of our ladies here is AWESOME!! I saw on the Weekly Stats that you're testing on the 18th....Good Luck We have a Chart Stalking Room if you're interested in putting your chart in there. I'm really glad you're here and can't wait to get to know you better. I'm sorry to hear about DH's swimmer issue, but as it was mentioned.....it only takes one, so you never know.
And Angela, I will look into grants, I hadn't thought of that before! Thanks for the idea![/b]
Grants AND medical studies! Medical studies sound scary but they are FDA regulated! Most times the doctor just thinks, for example, that they want to give extra progesterone on a different day then normal--well he needs to do studies to prove it would be effective.....so they usually get volunteers (aka you) to help them prove it does increase the chance or keeps the same results. And they WANT you to get pregnant so their stats look good-some sometime I feel you almost get better care though these! And with your DH's sperm issues some doctor could be doing something to help that out and need volunteers also.
