I have been having long cycles, so my doctor told me that he wanted to check my progest. to see if I am indeed Oing or not. My last couple of cycles have been around 40 days long!! BOO!! Well, I have been using OPK's and it seems like the last 2 cycles I have O'd like a week before AF. I got what I thought was a + OPK on Sunday, May22. I went and had bloodwork done on May 31. I couldn't go on Sunday or Monday because of the holiday weekend. My doctor's office called me today and told me that it looks like I am definitley NOT Oing. I go in for my next appointment on June 27. They are going to start me on Clomid then.

I have just finished taking my second round of Soy Isoflavens..........so the first round did not work. I am starting to freak out now!!! I have always had a fear of secondary infertility and now I am terrified that nightmare may be coming true!!!

Please tell me that I am not making a mountain out of a mole hill!!!

Ugh! That totally sucks!! I'm glad you went to the doctor and confirmed that though so that you can take steps to fix it. I don't think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill but I also don't think you need to worry too much. It has been ages since I used soy isoflavones so I can't remember how long it took for them to help regulate my ovulation but maybe it takes a couple of months? Hopefully this round of soy will work. Are you charting your temps at all? I highly recommend trying that so that you can see a pattern. If the soy works, you'll see a clear temperature shift showing you O'd. OPK's are good too but they only show that you will probably O...you can get a positive but still not O. Either way, I totally understand your anxiety...after all, we can't get pregnant if we don't ovulate. So of course you are concerned. But I think your doctor will be able to help get your cycle regulated. Good luck and keep us posted!

((hugs)) I had super long cycles too and many where I never did O. It can be so frustrating & depressing. I think having the doc check it out is a good thing. Before the docs figured out my problems, I would O (if/when I did O) anywhere from CD29 and longer. I was eventually dx'd with PCOS, and after taking meds for that (metformin) I did end up getting regular cycles. I O'd @ cd19ish and had a 11/12 day LP so cycles ended up being around 30ish days. My LP was on the short side, so when I was TTC I would take progesterone supplements to extend the LP until a blood test ruled out pg. (and I took the progesterone when I was pg for several weeks). I took clomid before the PCOS dx and that moved my O a little earlier, with the metformin & clomid I O'd around cd12/13.

and I agree about the charting. OPKs never worked consistently for me, so charting (temps & CM) are what allowed me to see the patterns of my cycles.

Good luck!!!

Thanks Ladies!! I love having you all for support!!

I have not been charting, so guess when I start my first round of clomid, then I'll have to start. Honestly, I never have really ever wanted to chart because I have always thought that puts too much pressure on the whole TTC process.............but I guess that may have to change!! LOL

I have a WONDERFUL doctor!! He is young and very pro-active when it comes to any woman trying to get pregnant....at any age. He doesn't make them wait a year to find out if something is wrong. I know around 15 or 20 women that use him for their OB/GYN and all of them LOVE him!! He was my doctor when I had DS and I have been using him every since. I went to see him in December because I wasn't having a cycle. He told me to get off of the pill. I saw him in March and told him that I was finally having a cycle, but that they were really long. That is when he told me to go get the bloodwork done. He told me in March, that if i wasn't pregnant by June that he would start me on clomid. I have a history with Endometriosis, so that could be another reason that he is not playing around.
