Has anyone played tourist in their own local area before? We hope to do that during our stay-cations we have planned for this summer. I have a friend who's made a plan to visit all the national parks in her state and hike on a trail or at least part of one in each park, and is documenting on facebook with pics of the ones she's gotten to. That just sounds so cool, and may be something we start on as well.


So have any of you done this?

What a great idea!!

So have any of you done this? I have done this at times. Usually I go to Bar Harbor which is the big touristy place in Maine and we're doing 2 camping trips locally (one was in June and the next is this coming weekend-might even add another one). We also have a big hill in my town that my friend and I hike every once in a while. The view at the top is stunning!


Would you want to? It's a lot of fun and I love doing that!


What goal would you set (or would you set one)? I think my main goal is to make the most of it, have fun, and try to see things I have missed before.

So have any of you done this? Yes, DH and I play tourist quite a bit because of where we live.


Would you want to? Our new 'to visit' place is The Orchard at Altapass on the Blue Ridge Parkway.


What goal would you set (or would you set one)? We have promised to do things while the weather is permitting that are free, local and that other people travel from far away to see.

we camp locally but that's about as local touristy as we get, there isn't much going on here that we haven't seen already
