Sounds like your doctor is going to do the clomid challenge test. That is a great start! (not to mention you can get pregnant that cycle as well)
Here is the readers digest version of what will happen:
The clomiphene citrate challenge test (CCCT) provides an additional assessment of ovarian reserve. It is performed by measuring the day 3 FSH and estradiol levels, the patient takes 100 mg of Clomid on cycle days 5-9, and her FSH is measured again on day 10. The test is abnormal if either the day 3 or day 10 FSH values are elevated or if the day 3 estradiol is greater than 80 pg/ml.
What they are going to look for are a few things. #1 - That your FSH level is under 10 on cd3 and that after taking the clomid on cd10 that your FSH level is less than it was on cd3. Even if it is above 10 don't panic. Mine was 16 and the doc said no way would I get pregnant on my own... I proved him wrong
Good Luck!!
