I'm a newbie, this is my first cycle trying, need testing advice

Hi guys.
Ok I'm 7 dpo today (Friday). What do you guys think is a reasonable day to test?

Also symptom wise, Ive had some digestion issues today. I had a rotten day at work yesterday, and I've cried for almost 24 hrs straight. That is not normal for me, but I think its too early for preg hormones to be affecting me this much. I've also had some Cramping. My cycle is an extremely regular 27-28 days.

I took an hpt this am. Bfn lol.

Any advice much appreciated.

Hi and Welcome!!

I would say that USUALLY, you will not see anything until 10 to 11 DPO....................so I would say Monday or Tuesday would be the best days to test. That's just my opinion though.

Sometimes you may see something around 8 or 9 but it is not very common. Hope this helps!!

Although I started testing at 7 DPO, I wouldn't recommend it. I'd wait till at least Monday as well.

I've never seen a BFP myself until 9 DPO, and that was twins.

I agree with the others, although it's hard to wait, especially if you have a big stash of HPT's. I am usually good about waiting until 10 DPO but even a BFN then doesn't necessarily mean anything as it can take a while to get a BFP. Good luck to you and please keep us posted!

Ok today I'm 8 dpo. I tested again this am (I'm so bad). Like one of you mentioned, the stash of hpts is toooo tempting to resist. Got what I thought was a bfn. However, I didn't throw the test away. We left for the day. Came home and NOW there is a line. I don't know how reliable it is after it's ~8-9 hrs old. Any experience?

DH wants to test again, LOL. He's terribily excited after refusing to ttc for about 5 years! I know I SHOULD wait until at least Monday or Tuesday, right??

You are really not supposed to rely on them anyway once they've set out that long, but if you have a good size stash.............TEST AWAY!!

Maybe that 2nd line will appear withing the right time window. I woul dsuggest usuing FMU (first morning urine) that way the HCG level will be at it's highest!!

Well, I caved and tested again yesterday afternoon, LOL. BFN, but like you said, not first morning urine and still early. SO, I didn't test today (Sunday). Trying to hold out until Tues, 11 DPO. Can't really call it a "stash" now, LOL, I'm down to 2 tests, so, trying to wait it out. If I get a BFP I'll probably go get a ClearBlue digital or something to confirm. DH is very anxious....LOL. He's as bad as me!

Did AF show for you? I hope not!

Oh! Symptom wise, I took a really out of character 3 hr nap today! LOL.

) Okay beyond me being a little brat, I know it is so hard to wait, but 7/8 dpo is super early to get a BFP. I did exactly what you did (which we are not supposed to do) which was to look at a test that had went well beyond the time limit, but I too got a faint line on my 8dpo test once. It is best to wait before testing. I was 11dpo when I got a definite BFP line when I got pg, and I know several others who were 12/14/even 16dpo before they got any lines.

Nope......it is Monday in the a.m., and still no sign. 14 DPO...........I will test again in the morning....but still nothing as of yet........No AF, and no BFP.

Hey guys!
I did test this am, bfn, but my test was expired lol! I'm going to get more tests this afternoon. I'll probably test everyday until af shows or I get a bfp!

Still have my fingers crossed for all of u too! I can't tell you how much it meant to see all ur replies just now

I used to buy hpt's off amazon - much cheaper and it helped me not feel guilty about testing at 7dpo - lol.

You can get 50 tests for like $10

I do the cheap test too from amazon, you can get a combo pack of opk's and hpt's. Makes you feel less guilty when you over test.

Ok I tested w/ a FRER. I'm 11 DPO.. I CAN'T TELL! There is a very faint line but seriously guys, I'm afraid to get excited! You can barely see it!!

I think I'll test again in the morning. I'm having some trouble with that full bladder thing. I always have a REALLLY full bladdder when I get out of bed. Sort of impossible to use first morning urine AND not have a full bladder unless I back off on fluids. I'll try to avoid liquids after dinner tonight or something. Re-test in the morning.
