Really I do. But I was afraid it would come back and bite me in the butt.

When I switched jobs (still with the state, just switched departments) I negotiated a raise after my 6 month transfer-probation period.
Well I looked at my check stub and they put it into effect when I started.

Not that I'm complaining! Love getting the extra cash, but really don't want to get dinged in 6 months and them tell me I owe them some big chunk.
And they just came in and told me they will take it back out of my next check.

WOW Sam! That's gotta suck! Can they take it out in payments instead of one big lump sum?

It was only on this last paycheck and it was only partial because I changed jobs in the middle of a pay cycle. So it only amounts to about $50. But if I had waited it could have really sucked!

Gotta love the government for doing things like that. Sorry they screwed up.

Oh wow! That sucks! But, it is definitely better that they do it now rather than have a ton taken out in a few months! Good for you for negotiating a raise though! I'm sure you deserve it and more!

Yay for a raise. Boo on having to pay it back, but it's much better now then it being a huge amount.
