I am really sorry to bring this topic up on the board, but I was shocked to see a Menopause Prediction Kit at the chemist yesterday.

So I bought one, mostly out of curiosity as i had never noticed it before (on the shelf sitting under the prenatal vitamins?)

I went to my GP 2 cycles back due to the weird cycle I was having and she suggested I was peri-menopausal which kinda made me cross. I cant be! It is too early and I am TTC So I went for FSH, LH, Prog and Estrogen, which all came back "normal levels" but she still insisted I was "probably" peri-menopausal. So I made an appt with my GYN for 28 Nov to have everything retested and get an experts opinion.

Anyway I read through the leaflet and it recommended taking one every 6 months from the age of 35, as long as it remains negative (works exactly like the OPK where C & T lines must be the same darkness) I did my MPK last night and it came up negative, so to my GP, LOL

LOL!! I think it's probably;y similar to First Responses Fertility predictor kit.

I took one last year, but it was the cycle after a m/c so I think that messed with it. It came back positive. Well I showed it!!

OMG! I have never heard of that before!! You should send a pic of it to your doctor!!

Out of curiosity...if you get a positive, does that mean you are entering menopause or that you will be soon? And if you will be soon, what is the predicted timeline?

I would love to prove them wrong! And besides I am too stubborn and optimistic to give up TTC just from what a Dr said, LOL!

Sarah: The instruction leaflet said if you get a positive you should retest within 7 days. If you get a 2nd positive then you should consult with a Dr. There was quite a bit more written but I dont have the leaflet with me (I log into JM from work). I will check it out tonight when I get home as I dont want to give incorrect info, my memory stinx hehehe

Never give up if you really want it. When I went to my fertility doc when I was actively TTC. He said my egg quality was poor. I had a lot of them, but it didn't look promising. I was 41-42. After 18 months of active TTC, I gave up and stopped. I mean stopped abstained for 4 months. 2 months later I became pregnant. I went to the fertility doc the next day after the pg test and he couldn't believe a spontaneous pregnancy.

DD is almost 2 years old now. So, don't stop trying, you never know, it is stilll possible.
