I typically get some middle pain during O and I have been paying more attention to it since we started TTC (this is our 2nd Cycle) last month it lasted about 2 hours and this month it has lasted for 24hours so far.

I used OPK's on CD9, CD11, CD12 and at 7am, 12pm and 5pm on CD13 which were progressing in intensity. I had what I thought was a + OPK at 5pm on CD13 as the C & T lines were the same intensity (took 3 minutes for the line to develop fully). I didn't get to do my OPK's last month so I have nothing to compare to.

I started having mild cramping around 12pm on CD13 which has continued until today (CD14).

This morning at 9am I decided to use my last OPK because I was still having a tingly/crampy feeling and the T line was way darker than the C line and it came up within a minute.

Questions: Do I count the 5pm CD13 or 9 am CD14 OPK result as positive?
If I am still having cramps, does that mean I haven't released an egg yet?

DH has been away on business and is only back tonight at 8pm. Our last BD was CD12 at 5am before he left and I am so worried we missed our opportunity again

On a side note: my post times may not make sense. It is currently 11am here in South Africa, we are 9 hours ahead of the time on JM

You are still in the game tonight!

You get the LH surge usually 24-36 hours before you actually O. So if you got a positive test last night and are feeling the cramps today you are most likely Oing tonight.
Fingers crossed you catch that eggie!!

You're not supposed to use fmu to test for opks. It's best to test between the hours of 10-6. Also, once you do get a positive, it can take anywhere from 12-36 hours for you to actually ovulate. That's why temping is the best way to confirm ovulation. OPKs only tell you that you're body is surging and trying to ovulate. Temp spikes confirm said ovulation.

Thanks ladies! This is the first time I am actively TTC with OPK's and checking CM and CP. So your advice is very helpful.

No luck last night DTD since DH had tummy bug and wasn't up for it.

And I am having no luck finding a BBThermometer, only a normal oral one. Next cycle i will use the normal one I suppose.

Thank you again

Hi Ladies! It's been a while since I've been on the boards but I have been thinking of you all and hoping you are all doing well!!

Question: are there better brands of OPK than others? what is your experience in using certain brands?

I used them a few times a couple years ago and remember them being kind of pricey so I want to make sure I don't waste my money on the unreliable ones. Thanks for any input and suggestions!!!

I use a store brand that my chemist sells, they look alot like the IC and they work quite well. The only name brand I have seen here is the Clearblue OPK but it is very expensive because it is imported. I wish I could have been more help.

I have had really good luck with the OPK's from here: EarlyPregnancyTests.com-OPK and I've also heard of women having great luck with Wondfo OPK's. You can get them really cheap at Amazon. Here's a link to 50 of them for just over $9: Amazon-Wondfo OPK

Laura, I found the same BBT I have on Amazon for $8. I'm not sure what shipping would be like to South Africa, but it might be worth looking into. Here's a link: Amazon-Mabis BBT and here's another brand that is on sale for .99 (can't beat that!) Amazon-Fairhaven BBT. I really like the one I have. One good thing about both of those thermometers is that they store the last temp taken so you can temp, fall back to sleep, and then get up and record your temp later.
