HI!
TTC month #6. Weird that you spend most of your young adult life trying not to get prego, making sure I get all my traveling done, seeing the world, getting all your education and money in check. And now at 36 yrs old, getting pregnant is not as easy as I thought it be. I am happily married for 7mos! Great man and supportive with this whole process. Found this website and I don't feel so alone anymore!

So last month I found out my fibroids are back I had them removed about 7 years ago since they were so large and multiple. (they removed 8 fibroids all on the outside) This time it sounds like they are in the muscle. My doctor wants to get me prego and offered up clomid. I had to take a break this month and just take a breather from dipping my urine and taking my temp!

Anyone find it better to remove them first? Anyone have a successful prego with them?
Anyone have a cheat sheet to all the abbreviations? What is BFN? BN?

Hi Jen and welcome

I don't have any personal experience with fibroids but a lady that worked for me had a fibroid in her uterus and she did carry to 34 weeks and delivered a healthy boy, but there were some complications. What does your doctor think is best?

If you look on the main part of this forum you will see a pink section, the last topic in the pink section has all of the abbreviations you will ever need, LOL.

Good Luck!

I don't have personal experience on fibroids either, and hope some of the other ladies will chime in. I would think that it would depend on the location and what your doc thinks is best. I hope you don't have to wait long for your BFP.

Welcome!!!!

I had uterine fibroids removed before finally getting pregnant with DS. I had three m/c's before him which my doctor was 99% sure was caused by the fibroid because of it's placement. I think it all depends on where they are.
Good luck to you and welcome to JM!

So, my GP believes I should have no problem getting pregnant from the uterus standpoint, even with the fibroids. She wants to give me clomid. However, I went ahead and made an appointment with a gyn who specializes in fibroids just to see what he has to say.
From what I have been reading on the internet lately, the gyn's who do all this research on fibroids, believe it does not cause any difficulty getting pregnant. However once ladies get them removed, they pregnant! I am going to have a big sit down with my gyn fibroid specialist and let you know what he says!

Hi there and welcome!!! I don't have any experience with fibroids, but I wanted to wish you luck! I think it's a great idea to talk to the doctor who specializes in them. At the very least, he will probably just agree with your GP. Please keep us posted. When is your appointment?
