I am 36, and I have a darling two and a half year old son. Our insurance situation is a little tricky because my husband and I are going to be switching to an individual plan in a year. We decided to try for another baby before our current better plan runs out. The chances are slim because we only have a few months, but we are going to go for it!

Yeah, I am trying not to stress about the time frame. It took us 8 months to conceive my son, but I was ovulatin much later than I thought. Once I learned how to check CM, we conceived right away. This time I am going to back it up with OPKs. The hubby is excited to get lots of action because we plan to DTD every other day for most of the month. It will be so nice to toss the condoms for awhile.

Good luck!! Figuring out when you ovulate is a great tool. I tend to O normally in the CD20ish range, which I never knew until I started charting my temps & CM. I hope OPKs work perfectly for you, but don't rely on them alone. They don't work for every woman, myself included. So I advise continuing to monitor your CM as well as the OPKs.

I was going to try temping, but I read that it doesn't work for mouth breathers. I don't want to temp vaginally because my son is sleeping right beside me. I will definitely pay attention to the CM. That is how I got pregnant with my son. I was ovulating much later than I thought, so we were BDing way too early in my cycle. Once I noticed the EWCM, we got pregnant on the first try.

I'm primarily a mouth breather, and temping did work for me. My temps did tend to be lower then some of the other ladies' charts, but I could still see the patterns emerge showing ovulation after I tracked for a few cycles. CM is how I kinda track it now. We are not currently TTC at the moment, so I'm not actively charting anything. With all I learned though when I was charting, and how my body is, I know when I get the watery or EWCM and then the O pains and also when CM changes back, that I can now expect AF to arrive 10-11ish days later. With irregular cycles like mine, even that short notice is much better then nothing.

Good luck!!!

Thanks! Maybe I'll pick up a basal thermometer and try to figure out this charting stuff. Not sure I'll be able to see a pattern right away, though. DH and I plan to BD every other day from the moment Aunt Flo leaves till she comes again with some extra BDing when the OPK says go since we only have a few months. Hopefully, that will be enough to get my BFP!
