Ttc after tubal reversal surgery

I am 39 and recently had tubal reversal surgery @ Chapel Hill Tubal Reversal Center in Chapel Hill,North Carolina performed by Dr. Gary Berger.

Look forward to our chance to have child(ren). And the other benefits to the reversalis ridding all the side effects of tubal ligation. 20 years ago.

Welcome! congrats on a successful tubal reversal! I have heard there is nasty side effects. We have a great group of ladies here! Good luck!

In fact my DR dose NOT suggest a tubal ligation of any sort for birth control.

I do have to ask what the side effects are. I am considering one if I can get pregnant and have another baby.

I had a tubal reversal in Sept 2011 and I honestly can say I didn't have any nasty side effects. As a matter of fact everything has been a lot better since I had the reversal. My periods are shorter and I don't have the really heavy bleeding/clots like I did before and most of my PMS have disappeared. I am not as irritable, usually don't have af cramps until after af starts, and I don't get as bloated. I still haven't got pregnant and I am very disappointed about that. But I am definitely glad I had the reversal!! Not having the heavy bleeding/clots and PMS made the surgery well worth it for me

Sorry!!!!! Sorry I was meaning nasty side effects of the tubal ligation! Not the reversal! Oops LOL My sister had one and developed pain with Af and sever Pms ect.

Oops I am sorry, too, I misinterpreted what you said. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND that no one get a tubal ligation!! I am so glad I got mine reversed because of all of the benefits I mentioned in my other post!!! I would definitely do something else for birth control...if I only I hadn't been so young and naive when I had mine (I was 21 at the time). I regretted it for years afterwards and I was so glad when my dh now decided that he wanted to try to have a baby (he doesn't have any biological children just 4 adopted ones) and I got my tubal reversed!! I am just hoping that we get our baby soon. It is frustrating because I haven't ever got a BFP in the 16 months (soon to be 17 months) we have been trying

Have you seen a fertility specialist Katy? When is the last time you had a HSG?

I haven't seen a fertility specialist I have just been going to my OB/GYN. I had an HSG in Jan. I wish I could talk my dh into going to a fertility specialist

Katy you were so young when they did yours! ! My dr does NOT recommend a tubal ligation for birth control. She has always told me( the last 14 years) that is has terrible side effects! Good luck everyone!!
