We are going to learn how to make multiple frames of text for your blinkies.

STEP 1
Start with your basic blinkie and duplicate your first text frame, like this:

By duplicating your first text frame, you have an exact copy of the position and layer styles. Having the same position is important, so your text doesn't look jumpy from one frame to the next.

Just click on the layer that you duplicated and click your text tool and type over the text to make it say what you want. Repeat this step for each different frame of text you want for your blinkie.

STEP 2
When you are ready, head over to Image Ready. This might get confusing, so hang in there. Okay, start with your first text layer and set it up, just like you would for your basic blinkie. So, you have two frames now, right? Now, this is what I do to make my dots and text move at different times, but you may choose to do it another way. Duplicate those two frames, by making sure they are highlighted at the same time.

Now you have four frames....highlight all four of those frames and duplicate again. So you will have a total of 8 frames for your first text layer.

STEP 3
Now, highlight all eight of those frames and duplicate again. The new frames 9-16, should stay highlighted. Go over to your layers and click OFF the eyeball on your first text layer and click ON the eyeball for the second text layer.

For each new layer of text, you will just duplicate the frames and turn on and off the eyeballs for the next set of text. You won't have to rehighlight your frames, they should stay highlighted automatically. Play with your timing. You can highlight all the frames at once by clicking on your last frame and holding shift and clicking the first frame. I usually use either .1 or .15 for my blinkies. Here is what it should look like.

Here is your diploma!

Okay, I cheated and skipped lesson two so I could get all my text in there...but I'll definitely go back to lesson two. I can definitely see how this would be addictive!
